This is the privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") for the 'FishScan - Identify Fish' App. We value your ("User," "You," or "Your") privacy and recognize the sensitivity of your personal information. We are committed to protecting your personal information and using it only as appropriate to provide you with the best possible service, products, and opportunities, as described in this Privacy Policy.
The FishScan App collects very little user data as it does not require an account of any kind and all records are, by default, stored only on the user's mobile device. For the FishScan App ("FishScan" or the "App") , we do not seek or collect Personal Information (as defined below) from users ("You," "or "User") other than IP addresses, as discussed below.
Please note that when using the Application, you confirm that you have received this Privacy Policy and that you consent to the use of your information as explained in this Privacy Policy.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We does NOT request or collect Personal Information that would allow someone to identify You or contact You. We will tell you when we ask for your personal information whether it is a statutory or contractual requirement to give us the information and the consequences of not providing the information.
To undertake above goals, we may collect the following personal information related to our users:
IP addresses: When App connects to FishScan servers over the Internet, FishScan automatically collects IP addresses. It uses IP addresses solely for the purposes of communication between You and the FishScan servers and does not disclose such information, other than under the limited circumstances described below. Server logs including IP addresses persist for no more than 60 days.
Photograph: Photograph or photographs you may provide to the Services for the purpose of automatic identification may include location data embedded in the image files themselves. Such location data, along with the image submitted, are generally deleted immediately after identification is finished.
Commercial information: Records of products or services purchased, we utilize Apple and Google to process all financial transactions and FishScan is not provided with any personal data related to your transaction.
Feedback: From time to time, we may receive your opinions, suggestions, or modification and improvement ideas ("Feedback") through feedback function by using email. Any responses you provide are voluntary, however you agree that any Feedback you provide shall be owned by FishScan.
Cookies: The App does NOT use cookies.
2.Links and Third Parties
The App contain external links to Photograph artists and copyrights, other than to FishScan.
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
To facilitate our Service
To provide the Service on our behalf
To perform Service-related services
To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
3. Security
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. However, we cannot be held liable for any loss of or disclosure of data or any losses or damages incurred due to errors in transmission or unauthorized or unlawful acts of third parties or your decision to disclose your personal information.
4.Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 12. The App does not require a user account or other log in; photographs are stored on the device, are only transmitted for the sole purpose of identifying the species photographed, and are deleted from servers shortly after processing by the identification algorithm. And in the event that we learn that a child under the age of 12 has provided information on the Application, we will delete that information as soon as possible.
5.Privacy Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy sets out our current policies and demonstrates our commitment to your privacy. We may change the content or services found on the Application at any time, and consequently our Privacy Policy may change at any time in the future and will be updated from time to time. Whenever we make changes to this Privacy Policy that are important for you to know about, we will post the updated Privacy Policy at this link.
